TIGNES – the ultimate experience for skies and boarders
A bold statement to make? Maybe it is, but whilst Tignes caters for all levels of skiers and boarders including beginners, it is with the diehard, passionate enthusiast that Tignes really scores.
There are literally hundreds of miles of pisted runs and thousands of acres of off piste. “So what”, you may say. “Tignes France is not the only huge ski area in the Alpes”. That may be true, but the principle reason why Tignes and the linked resort of Val d’Isere are so exceptional, is, that as you travel across the whole area, it is possible to go from one amazing descent to another with never a dull spot in between. Caffeine, Red Bull? Not needed. The runs here will keep you buzzing all day.
It is for this reason that those who ski Tignes; or snowboard Tignes often do so more than once in a season. Tignes has the highest number of “same season” return visitors in the world, quite a record.
TIGNES – snow-sure skiing from December to May (and even July and August)
Unlike so many resorts nowadays, Tignes really is snow-sure. The only time you may lose a days skiing is when there is too much snow! The slopes into our village of Tignes les Brévières are all north facing, creating great skiing conditions, even in late season.TIGNES – a cluster of very different villages
Tignes les Brévières, where our Tignes Chalet is situated, is one of several villages that together make up this amazing ski resort. Tignes les Brévières is the oldest village. Very pretty, it is largely unspoilt and retains much of it’s original Alpine charm. The other villages of Tignes Val Claret, Tignes Lavachet and Tignes le Lac tend to be busier and more suited to those who prefer late nights to skiing!TIGNES – varied terrain
To challenge the best skiers and boarders there is a huge variety of slopes. Many are challenging and range from high altitude glacial runs to beautiful wooded runs down into our village. The off-piste skiing in Tignes, is nothing short of spectacular, with gullies, cliffs and steeps to challenge even the most able. If you need a little extra, try the jumps in one of the two top snow parks.TIGNES – facts and figures of the Espace Killy,
